The Reed Residence was designed by Robert Hawkins Architects and is located in Elkins Meadow subdivision, two miles from downtown Steamboat Springs, Colorado, USA.
This is an Energy Star Qualified Home featuring reclaimed wood for the timber frame, interior paneling, and exterior siding. Half of the roof is a living roof planted with a “SemperGreen” sedum mat. The remaining gable roofs provide the location, optimum orientation, and optimum pitch for solar panels. Even the driveway is green, concrete “Grass Pavers” allow for water percolation mitigating additional runoff. Photos by David Patterson Photography.
