Designing a new residence on a canvas as breathtaking as this required us to elevate our design considerations to a whole new level. With the ocean’s captivating vistas demanding preservation from the road, we embarked on a visionary journey, where the positioning of the site and the height of the home became paramount.
Employing state-of-the-art 3D modeling techniques, we discovered that the most optimal location was as close to the water as possible, allowing the building’s form to gracefully embrace the natural landscape, resulting in an unrivaled symbiosis.
From the moment visitors embark on the meandering pathway, adorned with a restored windmill and newly constructed stables, they are immersed in a carefully curated experience. The ocean’s grandeur remains concealed behind monolithic concrete walls, symbolising the unwavering strength necessary to endure this exposed environment. Only upon crossing the threshold of the monumental driftwood door are they rewarded with a breathtaking framed view of the majestic ocean, an invitation to a world of opulence.
Thoughtfully arranged in a linear progression, the home unfolds with each step, perfectly harmonising with the natural terrain. Nearly every room, meticulously oriented, presents an unparalleled vista of the mesmerising waters. An exploration of this masterpiece is facilitated by wide corridors, gracefully bending at the edge of each architectural segment, revealing new perspectives and captivating spatial encounters at every turn.
On the ocean side, where the elements make their presence known, we created a sanctuary of tranquility. The north-facing alfresco seating area and pool, thoughtfully nestled within the embracing structure, provide a haven sheltered from the elements. Even within this haven, uninterrupted panoramic ocean views captivate through vast glazed walls, creating a harmonious balance between protection and unobstructed beauty.
