Formerly a service station, the 800sqm site was transformed into an old workshop before eventually becoming the mckimm office in 2011. Despite its generous dimensions, the office occupied a mere 180sqm, revealing a pronounced underutilization of the site— a scenario rectified by the introduction of MODA.
Our focus centers on the captivating allure of meticulously designed two-story penthouse oasis. Adorned with the epitome of sophistication through carefully selected furnishings by Tigmi Trading, the residence boasts artfully arranged pools of light that delicately illuminate a harmonious palette of soothing neutrals, set against a rich backdrop of travertine and polished plaster.
The intention was to create a built environment that felt organic and tranquil while maintaining refinement, functionality and contemporary design principles.
As one transcends through each space, they surpass lightly textured materials and gentle, curved forms. Venetian plaster is a handmade, beautifully crafted feature that is seen throughout and is complemented by travertine. Aged bronze expresses material in its rawest form. The result is an environment that feels like an undisturbed abode in a utopic realm – the design is weightless, light and airy.
Guests embark on a spatial journey, passing through a barrel archway that leads them to a warm reception featuring a sculptural staircase and its refined ambiance. Proudly positioned on the plastered curve, a stone bookshelf complements various forms adorned with intricate bullnose edged details.
