Nestled within the urban forest, this intimate hideaway is intended to weather quietly into surrounding canopies of elm and oak. New native and adapted plantings hug its compact footprint. Clarksville Infill is a project designed by Cuppett Kilpatrick Architecture + Interior Design. This new home, located in a historic district in downtown Austin, was designed to blend within the context of shade trees and bungalows. After removing previous layers of alterations and additions from this stately home our work consisted of reconfiguring the interior layout to create a graceful progression of spaces which function for contemporary living. Griswold is a project designed by Cuppett Kilpatrick Architecture + Interior Design. Preservation of an existing structure was a major driver for development of this property in central Austin. Several small expansions were made at the perimeter of the structure to accommodate new functions and improve massing composition. Included in the additions were a screened porch which communicates with front and rear yards, covered front and rear porches, and new rooms beneath a central front gable. Photography by Whit Preston.
Located on a narrow urban infill lot, this single-family residence designed by Cuppett Kilpatrick Architecture + Interior Design with attached ADU was fashioned for a food brand designer and restaurateur with an affinity for pre-war Parisian apartments. This new home designed by Cuppett Kilpatrick Architecture + Interior Design is perched atop a hill overlooking the Austin skyline. The three-story house, anchored at the top of its site by a grove of twisted live oaks, steps down the hill away from the street concealing its full-height and making it scale appropriate for the neighborhood.
